| Hi! I'm Judy Crouch and I am enjoying my third year of teaching ESOL at Hollywood Elementary. After graduating from Bob Jones University I taught second grade in Puerto Rico for a year and a half and upon returning I taught science and ESL at Saluda High for five years. From these experiences, traveling, and from working with the Hispanic people of Saluda I have developed a love for the Hispanic people and their culture. My desire was to become more involved with the people and being at Hollywood has provided me with such an opportunity. Teaching English on the elementary level has proven to be an exciting, challenging and rewarding adventure. |
| iHola! Soy Judy Crouch y estoy disfrutando mi tercero año de enseñar la clase de ESOL en la escuela de Hollywood Elementary. Después de graduar de la Universidad Bob Jones enseñé el segundo grado en Puerto Rico por un año y medio y cuando regresé enseñé la clase de ESOL en la escuela de Saluda High por cinco años. Por medio de estas experiencias, varios viajes, y de pasar mucho tiempo con la población hispana de Saluda he desarrollado un amor por la gente hispana y su cultura. Mi deseo fue ser más involucrada con la gente y estar en Hollywood me ha dado tal oportunidad. Enseñando inglés a los niños ha sido una aventura emocionante. |

| ESOL is a class in which children who are not native English speakers are able to enhance their English language skills. Twenty-three students, grades K--fifth, are served at Hollywood and of these students, nine are classified as NES (non-English speaking) and fourteen are classified as LES (limited English speaking). The children are daily pulled from their regular classes for an average of an hour and a half. |
| ESOL (inglés como segundo idioma) es una clase en que los niños pueden aumentar sus habilidades del idioma de inglés. Veintitres estudiantes en los grados kinder-- quinto reciben los servicios de ESOL. Nueve son clasificados como NES (no hablan mucho inglés) y catorce son clasificados como LES ( hablan inglés limitado). Los niños van a la clase por una hora y media diariamente en lugar de sus clases regulares. |
