I have lived in the Hollywood community all of my life. I attended Hollywood Elementary, grades k-8, and graduated from Saluda High School in 1991. I graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Golden L award in 1996. I have also earned my 18 hours above my Bachelor's Degree. My husband's name is Mark. We have a son named Nicholas, and two chocolate labs. I enjoy spending time with my family and flower gardening.
Reading homework consists of reading a book ,or any reading material of your choice for 15 minutes. Students should then re-tell the story that they have read to an adult who checks the correct box on the Reading Log, and signs the comment line every night. If you have a reading assignment for any other subject you may use that for your reading log. Studying for tests may also be used for your reading log, if it involves some reading to study. Reading tests are given when we finish reading a story, or a unit in our CQ books. We will be testing on the skill that we have studied, not the story.
D.O.L. stands for Daily Oral Language. This will be our English/ Writing Lessons for the week. We will have a D.O.L. test on Fridays. Students should study their D.O.L. sheets that are sent home in their green D.O.L. folders on Thursday nights.
