Registration Information 

School Year-  2008-2009

 

Registration for the 2008-2009 school year will be held on the following dates for all Saluda County Schools  ………..

 

Tuesday, August 5, 2008 -  8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

 

Wednesday, August 6, 2008 – 11:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.

 

All students must present two valid proofs of residency (street addresses only- no PO Boxes) before registration can be completed. Acceptable items for proof of residency are limited to…. a county tax notice on your home or a utility bill (electricity, telephone, cable, or water bill).  Driver’s licenses are not accepted as proof of residency.

 

The tax notice or utility bill must be in the name of the parent/ guardian who is registering the student and must show the correct address.

 

Special Circumstances

 

Living with a resident with no bills in your nameIf the parent/ guardian is currently living with a resident of the Saluda County School District and does not have a tax notice or utility bill in his/her name, the parent/ guardian and the owner of the home must come to the registration site to clarify proof of residency.  The owner will be required to sign an affidavit declaring that the parent/ guardian resides in his/her home and the owner must present proper proof of residency  (a tax notice or utility bill).

 

Renting or Leasing with no bills in your name-  If the parent/ guardian is renting or leasing a home in the Saluda County School District and does not have a tax notice or utility bill in his/ her name, the parent/ guardian will be required to present a copy of the rental or lease agreement and the owner’s proof of residency (tax notice or utility bill) on the property.

 

Guardianship- All adults who have obtained guardianship of a student in the Saluda County School District must have court ordered legal guardianship papers on file in the student’s permanent record. Court ordered legal temporary guardianship papers are only good for a period of 30 days.
